I went to my GP on Wednesday with an earache ... but they couldn't see me urgently as I had no appointment.
My work commitments meant I had to suffer the earache through Thursday, but I asked my darling wife to make me an appointment for Friday evening ... but no that was not possible. You have to hang on the phone from 2.30pm onwards to get an emergency appointment that day ...
Is it me or are surgeries lacking something in the way they serve people? ....I'm beginning to imagine the surgeries are there for some other purpose ...

The Tories said their research suggested 1,700 would shut down under plans for new "polyclinics", housing doctors alongside other medical staff.
